Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino Altero 2009
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino|
Wine SpectatorA bright beam of cherry and raspberry courses through this elegant red, which is firm and well-structured, with refined tannins. The finish evokes briar and tobacco notes. Best from 2016 through 2027. 700 cases imported.
Wine EnthusiastAromas of stewed black fruit, oak, coffee and espresso carry over to the palate along with sour cherry layered with hints of bitter chocolate. It has firm but not very persistent tannins and closes on an astringent, drying note.
